Groundbait bag sealers
Is this a regular site in the bottom of your carryall?
If you are anything like me your carryall is often full of open bags of
groundbait.
You will also know that they are likely to spread the contents of its bag accross the carryall whilst you are transporting the carryall. Avoid this by using bag sealers that are available from supermarket for about £1.50 each. Each sealer is able to keep 3 opened bags of groundbait sealed meaning an end to the mess and wasted groundbait!
Mini rolling pin - Not just for the kitchen
A quick tip for making bread punch. Buy a mini rolling pin (10cm in width) from a supermarket or £ saver store for about £1 and you have the perfect tool for making emergency bread punch on the bank.
Sidewinder alternative
Save a few £££ by using this as a indicator when the situation calls for a
rod direct to your line, instead of to the side. Alot of pegs at Skanderborg
Lake require this as they are cramped.
All it requires is 2 cable ties and abit of black insulation tape. Wrap some black insulation tape around the rod where the cable tie will be put, this stops the tie slipping. Wrap one cable wrapped round the rod (see above) and the other one on to the first cable tie. The second one should also have about a 2cm bent at the bottom of it to act as a line holder.
This method is very very sensitive and bites are hugely exagerated so it takes some getting used too.
I learnt this method from a English angler that was down Skanderborg Little Lake around May time, if you know the person then can you please let me know as i would like to thank him for this tip and give him a mention on this site!
Save yourself £8 and try this yourself
If you are like me, you will have spent a fortune on these exspensive olivettes for your pole fishing or bulk weight for your heavy waggler rigs. At around £1.70 for a pack of 4 they aint cheap. You will also if you are like me have bought enough to keep one on every rig that requires one. I have at least 30 rigs in my box that requires olivettes and several floats that require them that are not made up yet.
Well, don't spend a fortune anymore after this simple tip.
All you need to do is to buy the pegged olivettes that require a rubber
sleeving on the line instead of the inline olivettes. Now once you have made up
a rig and found the required olivette plus shot, just take the olivette off the
rig leaving the two sleeves on the line of course. Put the olivette back into
the pack and the rig on a winder and in its home. Remember to mark on the winder
what size olivette the rig requires.
When you get onto the bank and require a rig, just look at the writing on the
side of the winder to see what size olivette you need and get one from the right
packet.
Fortune saved!
